The Tudors

I just received the third season of the Showtime series The Tudors. Watching it is reminding me just how much I am interested in that time period. I have read all of the 16th Century Phillipa Gregory books except the Other Queen and The Wise Woman. I love her books and have learned a lot about this time period through them. Can anyone suggest any other authors who write about this time period? Are the Alison Weir books any good? I have so many books on my TBR list that I'm not sure when I will get to them, but I am interested and curious.

  1. They go back a century earlier, but I really liked the trilogy about King Edward IV and Lady Anne by Posie Graeme-Evans: "The Innoncent", "The Exiled" and "The Uncrowned Queen". G-E is an Australian but really can write English history. Some quotes from amazon.com: "This book will enthral everyone who loved The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory." "Obvious comparisons are made to Philippa Gregory but it is younger and a great deal sexier."

PS - I loved "The Other Boleyn Girl" but that is all I've read by by P.G. I do have "Innocent Traitor" by Weir waiting in the wings (so many books, so little time."
